Helping children do better in school

by focusing on attention, working memory, and cognitive processing

To help children, parents, and families deal with troubles in school, Dr. Lavin and Dr. Carl Weitman have formed The Center For Cognitive Achievement. The center goes beyond questionnaires, using the latest techniques to ascertain the root cause of a problem by measuring your child's attentional abilities, processing speed, auditory and visual processing of information, decoding language skills, and more.

Dr. Weitman is a pediatric neuropsychologist licensed and certified to conduct detailed and accurate measures of precisely what cognitive functions seem to be in the way of a struggling child succeeding in school. From the results of his tests, Dr. Weitman creates a "map of the mind" that indicates specifically where school problems may lie. Knowing this information is important in crafting the most precise therapies most likely to help your child succeed.
