Helping children manage their own issues

with proven, stronger impact on actual outcomes

Autism is an abnormality of the ability to interact with other people and has emerged recently as one of the most dreaded words for expecting parents and parents of infants and young toddlers. The fear is reasonable and reflects many indicators that autism is becoming epidemic-like. At this time, roughly one in 160 children born in the US and Europe will develop some form of autism.

While no one knows for sure the causes, there are several theories:
  1. There is no epidemic, just a change in the way autism is diagnosed and defined.
  2. There is a genetic change going on that makes autism more likely.
  3. Environmental toxins are responsible.
  4. Childhood immunizations are responsible.
Advanced Pediatrics believes there is an epidemic but the cause is not yet identified. Our stance on Autism is as follows.

  • We believe that immunizing children will keep them safe from known childhood diseases and that the data show that immunizations are not a cause for Autism.
  • We therefore, recommend using immunizations that have a proven benefit of safety.
  • We will work with families who have concerns about immunizations and together we will try to keep children safe and healthy.
  • We ask everyone to contact their representatives to push for our science agencies to find the cause or causes of Autism.
In order to provide our patients the best information that science has to offer,
we do not accept samples of drugs, advertising items, money, food, or anything from outside vendors.
